Brighton Hood Cowl Knitting Kit

Brighton Hood Cowl Knitting Kit
Brighton is a fully reversible double layer cowl with an attached hood. This design is made via the double-knitting technique to create a very warm accessory that blocks the wind due to its construction. Knit in a solid main color and accented with three separate colorwork sections for a playful unique design, this piece is a joy to make and to wear. The completed Brighton cowl measures 8” wide by 55” circumference and the hood portion measures 19” along the bottom edge by 12” high. We have also created a how-to video on the home page of this website called “Seaming the Brighton Double Knitting Cowl" for tips on making this project. This knitting kit includes incredibly luxurious alpaca/wool blend yarn, our intermediate level knitting pattern and comes packaged in our red Koozie doctor’s bag cooler, a zippered reusable project bag. Make yourself a Brighton. We know you’ll love it!

Notes: The cowl is worked back and forth using the double-knitting technique for extra warmth. Once complete, the cowl is seamed. The hood is formed by picking up stitches centered at the seam and is also worked in the double-knitting technique. Both the cowl and the attached hood include some colorwork in two contrast colors using a charted design. The beauty of double-knitting is that there are no floats associated with this technique, and thus tension is very easy to manage.
